Inspired by Pieters’s travels around the world during his sabbatical from the fashion industry, more particularly his time spent in India, Bruno Pieters’ new collection for Spring Summer 2013 combines the designers renowned tailoring skills and his affinity for color and print.

As a couple since forever, the two worlds are bounded. Sneaker-heads, bling-bling aesthetic, Lacoste and Sergio Tacchini making french hip-hop famous, the history is currently taking a new step and comes out from sportswear and sparkling designers. Kanye West, A$AP Rocky, Theophilus London,… The new rappers get involved in luxury ready-to-wear fashion, and make it their own. Here is a brief overview with a few clips.

For his spring/summer 2013 collection, shown yesterday in Paris, Kris Van Assche decided to work on the tee shirt, this basic both out of time and essential, findable in any man’s wardrobe. The designer declines the piece in a subtile way, going from sportswear to a more classical dress code. Trompe-l’oeil tricks, comings and goings between cities and sport fields, fabrics and cuts confusing the issue,… The creator, at the top of his art, juggles easily with different universes, and renews, again and always.

A masterpiece.

Our talented fashion editor, Katarina Jansdottir, is rising up and is now too busy to review collections for us. So, we’re looking for a new fashion editor, and the post is immediately vacant. Don’t expect to be paid, we’d like to, but we don’t make any money for now. On the other hand, you’ll have access to the Paris Fashion Week, and will have the opportunity to work for a serious and fun project.
