In Denmark, an old tradition pushes women to wear « Strude », a kind of cowl made of different layers and letting only the eyes appear, between a tuareg and a samurai. An heritage from their helders, theses equipments help them to fight the rough winters from the north of Europe.

BACK FROM THE HYÈRES FESTIVAL PART.I

READ THE COMPLETE REVIEW, DISCOVER THE WINNERS AND ALL THE IMAGES FROM THE SHOW ON VEINE.FR !

Last Saturday, we were at the 27th edition of the Festival de Mode et de Photographie of Hyères, in the very heart of the Villa Noailles, a peaceful place where the fashion world gathered to sip some coconut drinks, stretched out on the garden’s grass. We discovered the Yohji Yamamoto’s showroom, installations by Inez Van Lamsweerde & Vinoodh Matadin and Lynsey Peisinger & The Stimuleye, and photographs by Jason Evans and Paolo Roversi.

Afterwards, we went to the Salins, in the big warehouse where the shows happen every year, for the presentation of the collections by the 2012 Fashion Price prize-winners.

Fantastic Man goes Black

FIND THE COMPLETE HIGHLIGHT AND ALL THE OTHERS ON VEINE.FR !

For this spring/summer season, the well named magazine Fantastic Man publishes a photo story shot by Daniel Riera called « Black ». The 50′s mood, surely inspired by movies such as « Le notti blanche » or « Death in Venice » by a Visconti at the height of his art, supports a sober layout and pieces by PradaRaf Simons or Hermès, among other brands.

You should quickly jump on it and reblog them before all your followers do it and make you look naff.

Matthieu Belin, french photographer based in Shanghai, has a solid background and has already worked for a certain number of reliable values, such as VogueGQElleSurfaceLifeBazaar or Cartier. His style is balanced between a clear minimalism, sometimes even cold, and graphic design, playing easily with digital technics. His portfolio is the mirror of this style spread, offering both editorial works and personal series. Published in our next issue, we’re presenting here a sneak peek of his skills.

Erik Madigan Heck

FIND THE COMPLETE HIGHLIGHT AND ALL THE OTHERS ON VEINE.FR !

Erik Madigan Heck is a ufo. Between fashion and contemporary art (you could even say « conceptual »), his work reveals an intimist universe, marked by his own life and some musing. We already told you about him here, for his collaboration with Ann Demeulemeester for The Corner.
